What We Collect

When you take the Stoke quiz, we collect: your name, email address, phone number, zip code, age, relationship status, faith journey, church attendance, and your quiz answers (interests, goals, personality preferences, and vibe check responses).

We use this information to match you with a group of men who share your world. Your quiz answers directly inform our matching algorithm.

How We Use Your Information

Matching: Your quiz answers, location, and demographic information are used to match you into a group of 5 men with compatible interests, life stage, and personality.

Communication: We use your email to send account-related messages (login links, matching notifications). We use your phone number to add you to your group text and to send notifications when your group is ready.

Product improvement: We analyze aggregated, anonymized quiz data to improve our matching algorithm and product features.

What We Don't Do

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your individual quiz answers with other users, churches, or partners. We do not use your data for advertising.

Group Chat Privacy

Your group chat lives in SMS via a Stoke phone number powered by Twilio. Because Stoke's AI operates inside the group chat — sending prompts, responding to messages, and adapting to the conversation — message content is processed by our AI system to generate relevant responses and keep the group engaged.

Additionally, during the early launch phase, a Stoke team member (the founder) may observe group chats to learn what works, improve the product, and intervene if a group is struggling. This is temporary and will be phased out as the AI improves.

What this means for you:

If you are not comfortable with this, Stoke may not be the right fit. We believe transparency is more important than a privacy policy that sounds good but isn't true.

Phone Numbers & SMS

We collect your phone number for one purpose: to add you to your Stoke group text and to deliver prompts, challenges, and leaderboard updates from our AI assistant. Your phone number is never shared with third parties, sold, rented, or used for marketing purposes unrelated to the Stoke service. Your mobile information is not shared with affiliates or partners for their own promotional use.

You can opt out of Stoke SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or email support@stokefaith.com to be removed. Reply HELP for support. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security policies. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit.

Your Rights

You can request to view, update, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing us at collin@stokefaith.com. Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our active database. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for product improvement.

If you are a resident of California, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales (we do not sell data). If you are a resident of the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in). We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregated traffic data. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising pixels.

Children

Stoke is for adults 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
